Eugene Weir must be one of the most consistent golfers in the history of Banbridge Golf Club.

He hardly ever has a really bad round. In this open stableford, Eugene was two over after three holes and still only two over after the full 18. How’s that for consistency?

Gary Williamson had victory in his grasp with only three to play. He could afford to drop four shots and still win but he dropped one more and lost out on countback.

1st- Eugene Weir (6 now 5) 40 points.

2nd- Gary Williamson (14 now 13) 40 points.

3rd- Merton McDowell (21 now 20) 39 points.

Colin McKinney and his fourball are very keen supporters of all the weekly sweeps. Over the course of the season, they all have a fair share of success. This time it was Colin’s day as he bagged his fourth victory of the year to date. It won’t be his last, that’s for sure.

1st- Colin McKinney (17) 30 points.

2nd- Albert Morrison (19) 28 points.

We have a new name to add to the long list of Sunday Sweep winners over the last few years, that of Tom Nelson.

Now that you have done it once, Tom, why not try to do it again.

The luckiest player on this day was Paul Faulkner who had the only two in the competition and he lifted a massive rollover sweep. It was the biggest 2’s prize this year. Nice one, Paul!

1st- Tom Nelson (26) Nett 32.

2nd- Graham Shannon (21) Nett 32.5.

3rd- Mel Hamill (15) Nett 32.5.
