Clifford Thompson, that top-ranked golfer from Dromore, is the latest player this season to have a hole-in-one. He achieved what is every golfer’s dream a week ago in the Saturday Stableford.
That makes, by my count, a total of seven holes-in-one this season.
Neville Kerr got the first one on the Professional’s Day in early May.
Thomas McKibben was next in a Juvenile Sweep in mid-July.
Ken Stevenson and Andrew Quinn both had aces on Lions Cup Day later in July.
Cecil Wilson got his ace on Darren Weir’s Charity Day at the start of September.
Luke Woods had a hole-in-one at the 10th hole on his way to victory in the Yess Electrical sponsored competition on the 14th of September.
There could be another name added to the list before the year is over, who knows.
