More mixed results for the U12s

RATHFRILAND U12s played the last of their league games on Saturday last with the first of three games against Midway Devils in a tough fought match.

Rathfriland scored first with Lee Patterson slotting the ball in from a tight angle but Midway came back to draw level before the break.

In the second half Mark Weir and Mark Adams worked hard, closing the ball down with Sam Cantley, Neil Galloway and Aaron Weir making it hard for Midway. In nets Jack Moffett pulled of some great saves, frustrating the opposition.

Rathfriland took the lead through Mark Adams but Midway grabbed the equalizer with a great shot, dipping over into the far corner in the dying seconds the game finished all square.

Next Rathfriland played a strong Valley team pushing for the league. From the start Valley dominated with their big centre forward opening the scoring.

Rathfriland started the second half still in the game but again Vally put the pressure on and scored two goals to finsh off the game.

The final game of the day was against Camlough, the game was closely fought with everyone working hard.

Both defences did their job and Mark Adams capitalized on pressure on the back four with his flick looping over the keeper.

Rathfriland held firm with the defence clearing their lines. Neil Galloway had a bad twist on his knee but bravely struggled on and making some good clearances with Rathfriland finishing off with a well fought win.
