Dromore started strongly dominating the early exchanges. This quickly paid off for Dromore, resulting in a fine goal coming in from the left after 10 minutes through Evan Taylor.

This seemed to unsettle the young Banbridge side with another goal from Dromore following just two minutes later through Reece ‘Speedy’ Montgomery - the pick of the goals in fact.

Banbridge composed themselves but were unable to challenge the Dromore defence and did well to contain the score until half time.

The second half saw Dromore continue from where they left off, dominating play and forcing Banbridge deep into their own half.

Town keeper, Billy Campbell, pulled off a string of fine saves to keep Banbridge in the game. Banbridge’s defence were also tested with some fine individual performances by Adam Dickson and Aaron Dougan to keep Dromore at bay.

The Town team rarely threatened the Dromore goalkeeper with only one fine individual effort from Jamie Flack with the ball just going wide of the post.

Dromore now seized the initiative and following a fine sole run from that man Montgomery who finished by chipping the ball over the Banbridge keeper to bring the final score to 3-0.

The Amateurs deservedly lifted the Shield following an excellent display of football.
