The first ever team to play for the club will be back together and the club has compiled a look back at their history

A club spokesman encouraged everyone connected to the club to get along and support the function, saying, “The squad of 1983 and your founding fathers will be in attendance on your nostalgic night and there will certainly be an abundance of misty eyed reminiscing.

“Let’s all grasp the opportunity on the night to salute them for their vision in starting our fledgling football club from humble beginnings.

“We have all seen the 1983 inaugural team photo and can’t wait to see the 2013 reunion photo, and the Spirit of ’83 team bopping to the Commodores and Gladys Knight & the Pips.

“All of us in the Moneyslane family are just like any family, of course with our many faults, but united we stand and our blue & white blood that streams through our veins is much thicker than water.”

There will be a display on the potted history of the club, with pictures, newspapers cuttings and several interesting tales from our humble beginnings in 1983, leading right up to the present day with 11 teams playing competitive football, having the club’s own state of the art sand carpet grass pitch, grass training pitch, 3G floodlit training pitch and attracting the biggest support in the Mid Ulster Football League.

The spokesperson added, “Blood, sweat and tears have allowed us to reach our 30th year and only blood, sweat and tears will ensure we remain as an anchor and Hub in Moneyslane. Please contact Roy Boyd 07723058036 or Lenny Blakely 07888690972 today if you have any further memorabilia etc you would like to be displayed.”
