Rathfriland had two clear chances with which to take the lead and failed to do so. Tullyvallan took the one chance they had and Rathfriland did hit back to equalise with Jake Laffin taking his chance well.

Tullyvallan scored their second by catching the Rathfriland rearguard flat footed with a quick free kick.

The second half was much the same as the first with Rathfriland having numerous chances to take the points but not succeeding.

Tullyvallan were clinical when they got their chances and made Rathfriland pay for slow reactions. Three quick goals in succession killed the game off.

On a brighter note Rathfriland didn’t let their heads drop and hit back with a well taken goal by James Pollack. A neat series of passing resulted in centre midfielder Pollack arriving on the edge of the box to tuck the ball accurately into the corner of the net.

In analysis, this Rathfriland team are beginning to play some very neat flowing football. However, they will need to toughen up in defence and the results will soon start to follow.
