Michael takes the honours in Wilkinson Memorial

THE rainy weather conditions a fortnight ago on Tuesday evening did not deter the athletes of all ages attending the Helen Wilkinson Memorial Race.

Dromore Athletic Club coach Michael McGreevy organised the races, dividing the junior and senior athletes into their categories.

In a very competitive race for the younger athletes Rebehah Nixon finished strongly in first place, followed by Mark Aiken in second and Theo Dickson third.

The senior race and the Helen Wilkinson Memorial Trophy was won by Michael McLernon, who has recently joined Dromore Athletic Club.

Second place went to Rebecca Murtagh and Julie Turley was third. Well done to all the athletes who took part.

After a delicious supper served by Glynis and Karen in Dromore Leisure Centre John Wilkinson presented the prizes.

The Wilkinson family wish to express their sincere appreciation to Dromore Athletic Club for hosting the evening, coach Michael McGreevy for organizing the racces and the courteous staff of Dromore Leisure Centre who provided the facilities.
