Mal in driving seat at Gracehill

AN excellent 43 point tally was just the job to steer nine handicapper Mal McConaghie to victory at Gracehill Division 1 recently.

Don Brown (12) scored a fine 41points to claim runner up place three better than James Chestnutt in third.

Gross Prize went to Stephen Bell with 31 points off a six handicap.

In Division 2, 40 points was enough to give Robert McBride victory over Aaaron Patterson and Lee Munnis (19) both on 38 points - Aaron shading it after countback calculations.

There were only six twos, Rodney Donnell managing a brace at seven and 14.

Shaun McCook scored his at 16 while Aaron Bell, Aaron Patterson and Paul Shiels were on target at hole 11, Fuschia Island .

On Sunday 28 February Laurence McCormick showed great finishing in Division 1 with a prize-winning 43 point score, two ahead of Lee Baird (15) who claimed second ahead of James McClenaghan one back.

Gross prize was claimed by three handicapper Robert McNeill on 33 points. Division Two was won by Dean Rainey 27) who pipped Malachy Carey (20) by one point.

Colin McAleese (23) lost out on second place courtesy of countback despite a fine 41 point card.

Twos - seven in all - were scored by S. Bell, D. Cochrane, L. Davidson, R. Hutchinson, C. Linton, J. McClenaghan and P. Shields . Results from March 6 and 7 sweep next week.
