The Academy, Dromore HS, St Patricks HS, Killicomaine JHS, Tandragee Junior HS, and St Malachy’s, Castlewellan all went head to head to compete for the title with Rathfriland unable to make it at the last minute.

As the tournament progressed, nerves settled, and the games became closer and closer displaying great skill and enthusiasm by all.

Banbridge Academy and Killicomaine made it through to the final. It really was a game of two halves. Banbridge Academy led 4-2 at half-time and all looked safe, but in the second half, Killicomaine came out all guns blazing and won with an impressive score-line of 9-5.

Academy student Lynsey Orr was voted as the Player of the Tournament and she received a £20 gift voucher from Shoefair Sports; a well deserved early Christmas present.

Academy PE teacher and netball coach, Mrs H Lawther would like to thank all the schools involved for an excellent and most enjoyable day’s netball.
