Luck is out for Bann Ladies Firsts despite some fine hockey

There was another chilly away game for Banbridge Ladies 1st XI last weekend.

The Banbridge girls had a positive start to the game.

Banbridge rotating forward line of Amy Atkinson, Cathy Rees, Rachel Cairns and Rachel Kerr bombarded Knock’s circle again and again.

Unfortunately being denied by the Knock defence and keeper, Cathy Rees narrowly missed her target with a superb save on the line by a Knock defender.

Megan McKenna worked well mopping up any through balls and Jill Mehaffey and Charley Brush cleared the ball into the safe hands of the Banbridge midfield.

The Bann midfield worked hard weaving their way through the Knock players winning a number of penalty corners only to be denied.

The luck wasn’t to be on the Banbridge ladies side after conceding a goal in the second half.

Gail McConnell, Elayne Brown, Amanda Morton and Samantha Bann worked relentlessly in midfield to display some beautiful hockey.

However it wasn’t to be Banbridge’s day with the game ending in a 1-0 defeat for Banbridge.

Banbridge play Victorians at home this Saturday.
