Locals out of Des Kelly Cup

BANBRIDGE are out of the Des Gregg Veterans Cup, beaten rather convincingly by Edenmore.

Dougie Stevenson is the captain of the team and he knew that the result of the home leg was not good enough.

They drew, two games each, and the holes up situation was also level.

Edenmore had a big advantage over their own course where the second leg was played last Tuesday.

All credit to the Banbridge team, they made a fight of it.

Dennis Lockhart and John Redpath halved their game and so too did Jack Bickerstaff and Bertie Shaw. What a match it would have been if Banbridge could have won these two games! But it wasn’t to be.

Then P.J. Johnston and Dougie Stevenson lost 4 and 3. And Joe E. Hamilton and John Poots lost by 6 and 4.

That was it all over and it’s congratulations to Edenmore and commiserations to Banbridge.
