Local riders continue charge for top spot

On Saturday, several local riders will continue their bid for success in the the Ulster Quadcross/Sidecarcross/ Under23 & Open 2 Stroke Championships as Desertmartin hosts the halfway point in the season.

In the Ballymac Hotel Under 23 Premier Class, Ryan Adair from Dromara on the Adair Building Services Portadown Fireplaces Suzuki leads Newtownards riders Jordan Scott by 11 points. Also in this section, Loughbrickland family the Mearas are in hot prusuit. In third is Jason Meara on the Motul Oils Watt Kawasaki but big brother John ill be keen toto overhaul him on the TMC Honda.

Ryan Adair is the only real challenger to the early leader in the Open 2 Stroke Premier Class. Stewartstown rider Donal Teague is out in front on his Kawasaki and Ryan will want to peg him back this weekend on the 125 Yamaha.

Entry at Desertmartin is £5 per adult , U14s go free and all classes get three races each.

Ryan’s brother is also in action and Ross leads the Clubmans Under 23 section on the Adair Building Services/Portadown Fireplaces Suzuki from David Morrison from Ballynahinch on his Suzuki.

Meanwhile, Banbridge’s reigning Champion David Cowan is expected to be at the sharp end of the JMK Premier Quads Championship, that is currently led by Comber’s Justin Reid. Limavady man Michael McAneney is a slender few points behind but Cowan will be hoping to claw his way up the leadboard with a strong race.
