League draws to a close

THE Dromara Cycling Club league is drawing to a close with only one more time trail counting toward the final result.

The league has a total of 23 events counting, with the best 20 counting, this allows for a poor result, holiday etc.

Two of our open race riders Simon Welby and Gavin Magowan have been battling over the top two spots in the league for most of the season with younger brother Chris Magowan hanging onto third place.

The Dromara CC women are not left out with Caroline Patterson holding sixth spot overall, a great result. Caroline and fellow club member Mary Hunter have been selected to represent Cycling Ulster in an international women’s race in Kerry in a few weeks time.

The club wish both of these strong ladies the best, especially after Mary crashed out of the Ulster Women’s Road Race Championships last Saturday and spent the night in hospital.
