Ladies' sadness as Tuesday competitions draw to a close

FOR many of the ladies it is with a tinge of sadness that the final 18 hole Tuesday competition arrives.

Yet that time of year has once again come around. However, there are still a few 14 and nine hole competitions to ease us into the Autumn and reduce the withdrawal symptoms.

Ladies competition results:

August 31 – Mr President’s Prize: winner – Ann Magennis, 44 points; runner-up – Robena McCandless, 39; best gross – Helen Cocks 24 gross points.

September 7 – Turkey and Ham: winner – Mary Longmore, net 68 beating Yvonne Galloway on countback; Section A – Helen Cocks, net 69; Section B – Yvonne Galloway, net 68; Section C – Kathryn Sawyers, net 72.

September 14 – 18 hole club competition: Overall winner – Kathryn Sawyers, 40; Section A – Fionnuala Crossey, 39. Section B – Liz Armstrong, 35. Section C - Ann Ewbanks, 36.

So enjoy the last few competitions ladies and get your names down for the Autumn League too.
