Ladies Firsts secure fine win over Knock

Banbridge Ladies secured another win against Knock Ladies.

Knock had previously beaten the ladies in the last two meetings so Banbridge knew they had to be on their game.

The first 15 minutes consisted of Banbridge displaying some lovely attacking hockey and creating a lot of chances.

The Banbridge attacking line involved Alex Jenkinson, Amy Atkinson, Rachel Kerr, Lauren McGaw, Heather Bell, Cathy Rees and Nadene Black.

Throughout the game the forward line put constant pressure on Knock’s defence forcing them to make mistakes.

Ten minutes to go in the first half and Banbridge dropped their heads and let Knock create a couple of chances.

Heading into the second half the midfield felt confident and worked up and down the pitch constantly.

Elayne Brown and Gail McConnell were in the middle, Sam Bann and Alannah Magee out wide.

Banbridge finally converted one of their chances by Amy passing to Alex who made another pass across the goal and Lauren managed to put the ball and herself in the goal.

Throughout the whole game Banbridge defence of Jenny Grimes, Gina Woods and Charlie Brush played a strong part in the success of this match as they cleared a lot of balls away from their goal.

Banbridge now secure another three points to keep them in top form.
