The local angler reeled in a rather strange catch, which proved enough to claim Banbridge Angling Club’s Shooter Cup.

Angling on the River Bann, Martin got off to a cracking start, catching his fish before 11am.

And once he bagged his winning trout, he realised he’d got a little more than he bargained for. The fish was doing a spot on catching itself, as it had a finger-sized trout in its mouth when it landed.

Catching two fish on the one line is some going. Martin is only allowed to count the bigger one but that was all he needed.

RESULTS

Ist Martin Dynes - 1 lb 8 oz.

2nd Paddy Burns - 1 lb 2 oz.

3rd Jim Warren - 1 lb.

The next club event is the Juvenile / Junior prize night at the Corbet Lough on Thursday the 26th of May 2016 7pm-9pm - weather permitting of course.

The next club competition is the Dominic Downey Cup and Paddy Downey Cup (Juv) on Saturday the 28th of May 2016 Corbet Lough 3pm - 9pm.
