Islandderry Fishery hold their annual all night contest

A brilliant night was had by all at the annual all night competition at Islandderry Fishery, Dromore on Saturday night.

Water conditions were top class with absolutely no green in the water resulting in amazing rises on the lake during both the evening and morning with fish starting to rise from around 3.30am and kept moving right through until 7am.

Big amounts of fly life were on the water giving good dry fly fishing all night.

Allan Strain from Newcastle took part in the competition for the first time and was rewarded by going home with first place with a 3 fish bag of 12lb7, second was Belfast angler Paddy Brunty with 12lb1 and third was 17 year old Andrew Rea, Banbridge with a 3 fish bag of 12lb.

A big thank you to all those who supported the competition and also to Pierce Gibson for supplying the meat for the BBQ.
