Banbridge 2

Instonians 3

BANN lost ground in the Ulster Premier League title race with a dramatic last gasp 3:2 defeat to Instonians at Havelock.

In fairness Bann got what they deserved as they lacked the sparked and energy needed to breakdown an experience Belfast side.

Bann’s had a setback before the game as Chris Boyce and Irish player Bruce McCandless failed fitness tests, joining Stephen Dowds on the sidelines, whilst the ever improving Kelly twins were holidaying.

On a positive note Owen Magee became Bann’s eighth schoolboy this season to make the squad. Owen is younger brother to Belgium based Eugene, and he didn't disappoint and looked very comfortable displaying the dynamic 3D skills as big bro.

The Bann goals came from Colin Dowds and Dane Ward in the first period.
