The first half was hotly contested as Craigyhill’s new signing Stephen Duff ensured the home team’s first point of the season with a 14-9 victory. It was the visitors, however, who took a slender two-shot lead into the second half, as in-form Stephen McKee won 13-6.

The second half was again hotly-contested as Stanley Colborn’s quartet looked to turn the game in Craigyhill’s favour. David Graham was the star turn at third as the home four recorded an excellent 15-3 success. On the other mat, David McRandal’s L&K four played well and finished with a five to ensure the overall win 19-3, and 5-2 for the visitors.

Cairncastle and Cairndhu shared in the first half of their match but Cairncastle were the stronger in the second session and won both rinks for a 6-1 result.

At the Kirkpatrick Rinks tournament it was Alan McLean, Gavin Johnston, Mark Petticrew and Darren Witherspoon, representing the League’s top four teams, which made up the semi-finals. McLean and Johnston progressed and it was LB&LTC’s night as they went on to lift the cup. Congratulations to the rink of Fergie Duff, Stephen Dalrymple, Jason Kerr and Gavin.
