Improved performance from the South Down U14s

SOUTH Down U14 Football School of Excellence travelled to St Tresea's, Andersonstown in Belfast on Saturday August 14.

The players, coaches and officials were treated with first class hospitality and enjoyed a day of fine football. Four matches in total were played and the boys won two and lost two.

The squad were divided into two teams and both pitches operated at the same time.

The South Down squad are very well developed at this stage and the hard work put in with there coaches was very visible on Saturday as they produced some fine individual and team performances.

The Antrim teams were in fine form and in one of the games defender Liam Hynes from Drumgath cleared three great balls from the goal line and was superbly assisted by defenders Nathan McComisky and John Paul Farrell from the An Riocht club, indicating the squad is bonding well and working well as a team.

Coramc McCartan and Sean Gallagher from the Warrenpoint club also were outstanding on the day with some super scores coming from the boot of Ryan Trainor (Burren).

All players involved showed great skill and were displaying how their game as improved since the squad started. Well done boys.

Next week's arrangements will be issued to the Website and Club secretaries on Wednesday.
