How you could help fund new pitch for Moneyslane

MONEYSLANE Football Club has put in place a family-wide strategy to fund the club's pitch development programme.

The club has embarked on a major development project which will culminate in their own full sized football pitch, training pitch, modern changing rooms, ample car/bus parking and a pavilion.

On any evening or weekend the club caters for up to 300 members and 14 teams and they do not have the facilities to accommodate this ever expanding number.

A spokesman said, “We want to provide the best facilities, to encourage the best and leave us all proud to be associated with our club Moneyslane Football Club.

“Since the foundation of our club in 1983, it has remained at the heart of the local community and has contributed in no small measure to the development of our youth through difficult times. Our club has always been a place to go to meet friends and enjoy the participation of our youth, representing our area in healthy pursuits, instilling in us all a sense of identity.”

The spokesperson added, “For us all the Football Club is a part of the fabric of life in Moneyslane and well beyond, it builds pride and contentment in who we are and where we're from and we will ensure our pitch development provides a powerful sense of continuity and well being.

“Crucially, it does all that on the basis that we each put into it more than we take out, and it does it in good times and in bad. We believe our club pitch is not just desirable but necessary to ensure Moneyslane remains a vibrant and energetic community.

“Equally we believe it doesn't just happen; it has to be made happen. To succeed we as a community have to believe in this project with such a passion that it becomes a reality.

“That's the challenge that faces all those of us who love The Slane, and it is a challenge, but by meeting the challenge we secure our legacy for us, our children and grandchildren.”

To participate in the scheme simply complete a Standing Order Form (available from all committee members) with the club representative who will complete the Standing Order form with you.

The details required will be your Sort Code and Account Number, along with the preferred date each month you prefer your investment to be donated. Your completed mandate will be immediately placed in a sealed envelope to ensure confidentiality, and given to the club’s Treasurer. They kindly request a

minimum of 10 per month.

The Pitch Project Committee are matching ambition with pragmatism as they tightly plan and manage the major project.

“The Covenant Scheme that we have launched will be used solely for our Pitch Development Fund,” added the spokesperson.

“This forward thinking gift will help us all to carry this Pitch Project through to fruition and when we stand on our pitch, or support our families from the sidelines, we can all say, "I was there.... I did my

bit".

“We appreciate that individually each Standing Order Covenant may seem small, but together we can jointly contribute to something special.

“Soon you, your children and grandchildren will be able to see and and appreciate how you contributed to creating a home for Moneyslane Football Club.

“That will stimulate them in turn to do their bit, let's all together turn our ambitions into reality.”
