UCC’s game with the league leaders was postponed due to the weather conditions but, in spite of this, their place at the top of the pile did not suffer too much with both of their nearest rivals - Elsk and Railway Union - missing out.

The Elks were undone 2-1 at Jordanstown by Pegasus as Vanessa Surgeoner struck the winner just a couple of minutes to go.

Pegs had taken an early lead via Suzanne Ferris’s excellent volley to a high, deflected cross.

For the most part after that, the tie was played between the 23m lines with midfields and defences on top with Steph Quinn and Kate McConnell excelling.

Elks fought back to level from a corner move, Shirley McCay and Megan Frazer working the opening for Gemma Frazer to tap home.

Surgeoner, however, hit home from mid-circle from a clever move to net the decisive goal.
