Hockey Club well represented in Irish fixtures

OVER the course of the past week Banbridge Hockey Club has again been well represented on the international stage.

On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the senior men played a three test series against Spain in Santander winning one amd losing two of the games.

These matches saw Drew Carlisle make his International debut and also scoring his first goal in the second of the three matches. He was joined in the team by Philip Brown and Eugene Magee.

Then at the weekend Ireland A played two matches in Dublin against England A winning one and drawing the second.

The 3-2 win on Saturday saw Stephen Dowds score Ireland’s first goal with a great reverse stick finish. He also scored in the one all draw on Sunday. 

Included in the Ireland A side were Bruce McCandless, Philip Brown and Matthew Bell, who was making his first appearance in the senior setup. 

All the Bann players contributed a great deal to the Ireland performances over the weekend.
