HMV to create 10 jobs at Outlet

ENTERTAINMENT retailer HMV is set to create 10 new jobs when it opens a new store at The Outlet on Saturday, 2 October.

It is the first such HMV Outlet store to open in Northern Ireland and the 2,000 sq. ft. store will offer predominantly sale and promotional titles across music, film and games.

HMV’s Gennaro Castaldo commented, “The addition of our new outlet store brings the total number of stores to 12 in Northern Ireland and we are constantly seeking new opportunities to develop our estate locally.

"The new format is a first for HMV in Northern Ireland, and, in complementing our existing high street offer, we trust it demonstrates that we are looking to extend as much choice and additional value to our customers wherever and whenever we can.”

HMV has 29 stores across the island of Ireland and over 270 stores nationwide as well as a successful online store at hmv.com.

The company has been transforming itself in recent years to become a broad-based entertainment brand that gives access to much of today's popular culture - whether in the home, through its stores and online shop, on the move via its new hmvdigital downloads site and, following the acquisition earlier this year of MAMA Group concert venues and festivals, via the 'live' experience as well.

Last month, hmv also announced that it is diversifying into fashion wear, with a new range of clothing and accessories.
