Harriers start road race season in style

BALLYMENA'S North Belfast Harrier athletes had yet another successful day's racing on Saturday afternoon when six of its members took part in the opening road race of the season.

Club coach Gregory Walsh and the emerging Linda Petticrew were prize winners for the second successive race as Albertville hosted their five mile event at Duncrue Industrial Estate.

Both claimed victories in their respective age categories with Gregory making up the victorious three man North Belfast team.

Mark Hall returned to form by clipping an impressive 50 secs off his personal best to finish in 36mins 47secs.

Fast improving newcomer John Dickey produced a massive PB, eclipsing his previous best by 2mins 30 secs crossing the line in 34mins 29secs.

Also in action were Sean Quinn and Charlie Winter.

The club train on Monday nights at Fitness First and on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings at Michelin Atheletic Club.
