In the Master’s race Brian Hannon and Paul McGuckin were looking to continue the success they have had in these races from the start of the season.

Halfway round the 1st lap they put the pressure on to split the field and form a selection of riders who stayed away for the remainder of the race.

Phoenix CC, of Belfast, attacked twice within the last mile but Paul did a sterling job of bringing him back both times in time for Brian to launch his sprint up the hill to take the win. Paul rolled in a few places back.

Meanwhile in the main A3 race Banbridge CC had Daniel Purdy, Kevin Mcalinden, Nathan Sturrock and Cameron McIntyre.

The plan from the start was to keep the race together so Cameron could try to win the sprint on the uphill finish.

During the race Dan, Kevin and Nathan showed great teamwork in doing long turns on the front to close any breaks down to keep Cameron in contention.

In the last mile Cameron was right up there with a great chance and at the finish he was just pipped for the win but second was a great result for the Banbridge CC quartet.

Banbridge CC’s sole competitor in the A4/ladies race was Shenna McKiverigan who finished the race comfortably in her group.
