Haire Nicks Dromore's first league win of the season in the final end

Dromore A team's skip Nick Haire delivered the team's first league win of the season in thrilling fashion last week.

Nick Haire was Dromore's hero last week.

They were at home to Donaghadee and with three rinks finished, Dromore were one shot behind. However, Haire was playing the final end and with the shop against, he played a great bowl to take the jack to his back two bowls to give the locals the win by two shots.

The week started well for the club as the Vets No 2 team were at home to Lagan Valley and almost took full points. A rink lost by a shot but it was six points for Dromore.


On Wednesday, the Midweek were at home to Bessbrook and found the visitors too hard to handle, getting only one point as K Poots skipped his rink to a win.


On Thursday, the Ladies put one over Newry, taking four of the five points on offer.


On Saturday, the Juniors were at home to Antrim in a league match and the locals collected six points in an 11 shot victory.

At one time the game looked like the home undefeated record was in danger.

The A team were defeated at Dundonald.


On Thursday evening, the A team are away to Banbridge and on Saturday at home to Bangor. The Bs visit Newry.
