Great start continues for Slane boss DJ

Moneyslane made it two from two for new boss David Johnstone, seeing off Broomhedge 3-0.

Mark Ervine, Gareth Bingham and debutant Ritchie Nesbitt got the goals for Johnstone’s men, much to their new boss’ delight.

He said: “I’m delighted to get three league points, three goals and a clean sheet. We started really well for the first 25 minutes and got our goal through Mark Ervine. We really should have been two or three up by half time.

“Losing Mark Ervine to injury was a blow as his movement was causing problems for Broomhedge. To be fair, they came out and put us under a wee bit of pressure but Ivon Blevins did not have a serious save to make in whole match.

“Fine goals from Nesbitt and Bingham sealed the win. The conditions were very difficult so it was good the players got the job done. John Whitten, Kenny Gracey and Gareth Bingham in particular put in a great shift and it was nice to see Ritchie Nesbitt score on his debut.”
