Valerie makes up for last year to win Lady Captain’s Day in great style

Lady Captain’s day was reconvened on Sunday August 24 after the deluge on Saturday August 2, which prevented any golf being played.

This year it was a case of the proverbial ‘Zero to Hero’. Last year on Lady Captain’s day Valerie Malcolmson slipped at the 16th hole and injured herself and could not finish her round.

This year on Lady Captain’s day Valerie in great style and with 39 points, 3 points ahead of the runner up, won the top prize. Well done to Valerie.

Whan sisters strike Gold

The Banbridge ladies played for the Brooches on Tuesday August 19, and for the lovely prizes sponsored by Ada Lavery, Maura McGrath and Maretta Donaghy.

The winner on the day with a terrific score 43 points was Melissa Whan beating her sister Megan into second place. The second section was won by Kathryn Sawyers with 37 points beating Jacinta Rooney on count back.

There were three twos; Mary Longmore and Fionnuala Crossey on the 15th and Yvonne Galloway on the 10th. The CSS was 70 and 58 players took part in the competition.
