This is a wonderful course but it is extremely long, at least for senior players. The weather was fine and everyone enjoyed the day.

Banbridge are doing quite well in this season’s MUSA, lying in third place going into this round. To finish in second place would be a major achievement.

Tom Fee and Peter Hillen were the top scorers for Banbridge with 36 points each.

Brian Mulholland had 32 points and Merton McDowell had 31 points.

This gave Banbridge a team total of 135 points, which was only average.

The other four players for Banbridge were Ian Boyce, Felix Duffy, Bobby Geddis and Morris Phillips.

Banbridge lost a bit of ground on the leaders after the Spa round but they are still in contention for a podium finish.

Omagh lead with 1122 points, Tandragee are second on 1118, Ardglass are third on 1109 and Banbridge are fourth on 1106.

There are two rounds to go.

The next one is at Tandragee and the grand finale is at Portadown.
