This time his score was a fairly modest 37 points but in the blustery conditions was just enough to take the top spot.

Thursday Society members stayed at home for their annual Ted Pope Trophy competition this year and enjoyed playing their own course in it’s immaculately prepared condition.

Scoring was of the highest quality with two players returning 41 points that needed a tie break to decide the winner. Alastair Crockett (12) returned 22 points over the back nine edging out the much improved Robbie Kennelly (16) on the countback. Pat McAllister (28) was third on 38 points, a score that was equalled by Alan Simpson (8) but Pat got the verdict thanks to his superior last six holes total. The fifth and final prize went to Ricky Porter (17) who scored 37 points. Noel O’Connell (snr) takes over as Skipper when the Society resumes action in October.
