SUNDAY APRIL 3 - Cathal O’Neill is the captain of Banbridge Golf Club but the onerous responsibilities of the job do not appear to be affecting his ability as a golfer. He was the runner-up in the Saturday competition two weeks ago and here he is winning the very prestigious Sunday Sweep.

By the way, there were no 2’s so a major rollover is building up.

1st, Cathal O’Neill (12) Nett 31; 2nd, Paul Wylie (11) Nett 31.5; 3rd, Michael McGreevey (12) Nett 32.

MONDAY APRIL 4 -Gareth Moody hit the headlines back in early February when he set a new scoring record for a 14 holes sweep of 43 points.

He was chasing that score again in this sweep. Gareth played the 14 holes in only two over par gross for a magnificent score of 40 stableford points. Methinks that Gareth will not hold on to his 18 handicap much longer.

1st, Gareth Moody (18) 33; 2nd, Neville Kerr (10) 31.

THURSDAY APRIL 7 - It’s that man Gareth Moody once again. This was his fourth victory in the sweeps this year so far. The only man ahead of him is Albert Morrison who has won five times.

1st- Gareth Moody (18) 40; 2nd, Kevin Smyth (12) 36; 3rd, Colin Kennedy (11) 34.
