SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 9 - This Sunday Sweep turned out to be a nice little earner for Colin Smylie.

He took first prize in a photo-finish and he recorded the only 2 on the day. It was a nice day’s work.

1st, Colin Smylie (14) Nett 32; 2nd, Terry Malcolmson (14) Nett 32; 3rd, Robert Clydesdale (18) Nett 32.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 13 - This was number 22 of the Thursday Open Stableford competitions and we had a record winning score.

Brendan Berry returned to the club after a long absence and he shot a superb nett 59.

That gave him 46 stableford points and he won by a mere seven points.

1st, Brendan Berry (19) 46 points; 2nd, Dennis Watt (15) 39; 3rd, Richard Coburn (21) 36; Best Gross: Jonathan Ward (3) 73.
