Robert wins the Sunday Sweep for the third time

Sunday 6th December

Robert Haire won this sweep and he becomes the first man to win the Sunday Sweep on three occasions this year.

That is impressive but it is not close to the record. That is held jointly by Colin Smylie and John Poots who both won it six times last year.

P.J. Johnston went home happy as he collected a sizeable 2’s pot all by himself.

1st- Robert Haire (17) Nett 29.5.

2nd- B.J. McAnarney (23) Nett 30.5.

3rd- Eamon McAnarney (12) Nett 31.

Thursday 10th

December

Colin McKinney seldom misses the Monday or Thursday sweeps.

He has finished in second place no less than six times this year and must have thought that the top spot was going to elude him.

He left it late but he managed to get the victory he craved last Thursday. Well done, Colin!

It was a rewarding day for Albert Morrison. He finished second in the sweep and, better still, he picked up the entire 2’s pot.

He can go to the Pro Shop and buy himself a nice Christmas present.

1st- Colin McKinney (19) 27 points.

2nd- Albert Morrison (24) 26 points.

3rd- Kenny Arlow (13) 26 points.

Happy birthday, Harry!

Harry McMeekin is one of the most popular members of Banbridge Golf Club.

He has been playing the ancient game for a lifetime and he would still occasionally go out with his fourball partners, Aidan Doran, Dennis Lockhart and Tony Ewbanks.

Yesterday was a red-letter day for Harry as he celebrated his 90th birthday.

The captain, his friends in the Pigs society and all the members would like to wish Harry a happy birthday and the good health to enjoy many more.
