PRITCHARD WINS WEDLOCK CUP

Ian Pritchard got his name on the Gordon Wedlock Trophy as a result of scoring 41 points round the Valley Links.

His birdie two at the third and a birdie three at nine, coupled with a nasty blank at five, gave Ian 20 points out. Just two bogeys and seven pars on the back nine gave the eleven handicapper another 21 for his tie break win over David McKay who also scored 41. David blanked the final hole, with 19 points for the previous eight, to lose out on countback.

Jimmy Sheilds took the third prize with 40 points, a steady 21 out and 19 back kept him in front of Stephen Dunlop on 39 points. Stephen carded a birdie four at the fourth and a double bogey at fifteen in his round. Donal McNicholl was fifth on 38 points. He recovered from an opening seven to add in a birdie three at nine for two halves of 19 points each.
