News of this week’s sweep results

SUNDAY JULY 1 - Eamon McAnarney played the nine holes of the Sunday Sweep in two under par gross 34.

His winning score of nett 27 is one of the best scores this season. In fact, the only one to better it was Kieran McGreevey who shot a nett 26.5 back in February.

1st, Eamon McAnarney (14) Nett 27; 2nd, David McAllister (17) Nett 32.5; 3rd, Darren Barker (18) Nett 33.

MONDAY JULY 2 - Albert Morrison is a keen supporter of the weekly sweeps and it’s nice to see him making it into the winner’s enclosure. It was a photo finish with Albert winning on countback.

1st, Albert Morrison (20) 33 points; 2nd, John Doran (13) 33; 3rd, Kevin McKay (10) 33.

THURSDAY JULY 5 - Two visiting golfers from neighbouring Tandragee took the top two positions in the Thursday Open Stableford. Visitors are always welcome at Banbridge Golf Club and the Thursday Open is an opportunity to play the course and have a competition into the bargain.

1st, Kevin Maguire (Tandragee) (18) 45; 2nd, Michael Cromie (Tandragee) (8) 39; 3rd, Matthew Mallon (5) 38; 4th, Jonathan Brush (12) 38. Best Gross: William Malcolmson (5) 71.
