WHO will be the 2012 Champion Golfer in Banbridge Golf Club?

There are only 16 players remaining in the Matchplay Championship.

Here is how the score sheet looks at the moment:

Alan Caughey, who received a walkover fromWilliam McCandless, will now play Shane Crossan, who beat Danny O’Boyle 2 and 1.

Garreth Moody, a 3 and 1 winner over C. McAleenan, will play Bobby Geddis, who in turn knocked out Paul McCullough 2 and 1.

Gary McCartney got the better of the 2011 champion, Cameron Morton and he will now play either Kerry McCluskey or Callum Barnes.

Stephen Orr beat Nigel Bryson and he will now face Mark McCullough, who beat Seamus McNally in round two.

Sherwin Curran won 1 up against Malcolm Russell and he now plays James Clarke who was a 4 and 3 winner against John Poots.

P, J. Johnston had a brilliant 4 and 3 win over Jonathan Ward and he will now play Neil Comiskey, who ended the hopes of Trevor Mulholland 3 and 2.

Laurence Bramall beat Christopher McAvoy and he now faces Tom Fee who got the better of Conor Mulholland by 2 and 1.

Jim Matthews beat John Gallagher 3 and 2 and, in round 3, he will play Kenny Stevenson, last year’s beaten finalist. Kenny beat Kevin Smyth 4 and 3.

There will be plenty of exciting matches in round three, that’s for sure.
