Mary, Myrtle and Agnes win on Easter Tuesday

CONDITIONS were difficult and the scoring was high in the Easter Tuesday 18 hole competition which 37 of the lady members of Banbridge Golf Club played.

Section A was won by Mary Longmore with a nett 72; Myrtle Watt won Section B also with a nett 72 and the winner of Section C Agnes Watt who also had a nett 72. Myrtle also had her handicap reduced from 28 to 27.

The Novice competition was once again one by Mary Jo Thompson with a net 67.

Due to the tough conditions the Competition Standard Scratch of the day moved from 69 to 72.

Golfer of year points were awarded as follows: 6 Agnes Watts; 5 Mary Longmore; 4 Myrtle Watt; 3 Helen Cocks; 2 Liz Armstrong; 1 Helen Smyth.

The Challenge Cup Team played the home leg of their 1st round match against Armagh on Wednesday 11th April and managed to secure 2 matches however this leaves them work to do in the bid to reach the second round.

The Junior Foursomes team played was in action last weekend against Fintona and the result will be available next week.

Friday 27th April – Club Mixed Foursomes (4–7 pm) The Club Mixed is a great night of fun and entertainment and well worth getting involved in – keep an eye on the noticeboards in the back hall for timesheets

Monday 30th April - The draw for the Mrs Wm Smyth matchplay cup will take place so if you are interested in playing please add your name to the list in the ladies locker room before this date.
