Lady golfers play off for one of their major competitions

LAST Tuesday the ladies at Banbridge Golf Club played in The Chronicle Cup which is one of the ‘Majors’ in the ladies golfing calendar.

The Chronicle Cup was first presented by The Chronicle a number of years ago and is very generously sponsored with a fantastic array of prizes each year.

This year 67 ladies entered the competition. The overall winner was Glennis Smyth with 38 points beating Carole Quinn, Susan Magennis and Lynn Malcolmson on countback.

The Senior Foursomes Team were in action last Sunday against Masserene in the second leg of their first round match, however they were not able to overhaul the deficit from the first leg and unfortunately have been knocked out.
