Kilpatrick in contention at Concra

Banbridge golfer Richard Kilpatrick is tied for third after his second round at the Kingspan Concra Wood Open.

He added a -2 par round to his -4 yesterday and is four adrift of leader George Thacker.

Kilpatrick bagged an eagle at the first today and picked up shots at the 11th and 12th to make up for a bogey at the sixth. One more drop-shot at the 16th left him at -6 for the tournament, having birdied six of his last eight holes yesterday.

The Banbridge man is searching for his first major tournament victory of the season on the EuroPro Tour, although he did pick up first spot in the Kerry London Pro-Am at Burhill Golf Club in May, carding a 63.
