Josh and Rory win matches at Downpatrick

Nigel Bryson took his young Ronan Rafferty Cup team to the St. Patrick’s club in Downpatrick last Sunday.

They were playing the second leg of their first round match. St. Patrick’s led 13-7 after the first leg at Banbridge.

It was always going to a very difficult game to win but the Banbridge lads gave it their best shot.

Josh Crory and Rory McMullan won their games in fine style.

Callum Barnes, Luke Crory and Patrick McNiff all came off second best. Patrick managed to get a half point, which was very commendable.

Nigel and his boys couldn’t have prepared any better for the match. They just came up against a stronger team and that was that.

Sweep results

Sunday June 21

Paul Faulkner is a keen supporter of the Sunday Sweep.

Work commitments prevent him from playing in the major Saturday competitions.

It is therefore very heartening to see Paul win this particular Sunday.

It was long overdue as his last success was on a Sunday in September 2012.

2nd- Paul Wylie (12) Nett 35.

Monday June 22

Philip Mallon seldom if ever misses the Monday or Thursday sweeps.

And he is never far from the top of the leaderboard.

He was delighted to hit the top spot this time and he won by a distance.

1st- Philip Mallon (9) 34 points.

2nd- Wallace Henry (16) 29 points.
