The Banbridge Junior Cowdy Cup team, captained by Colin Smylie, went to Rockmount last Sunday for the second leg of their first round match. They had lost at home, 1.5 to 2.5, so they were up against it.

The top pairing of Dominic Quinn and James Bryson got off to a flier. They were 3 up early on but couldn’t maintain the momentum and eventually lost by 2 and 1.

Victor McNeill &Joseph McGivern got a half match.

Dermot Magee and Aaron Buchanan won 5 and 4. That was a superb result and it gave Banbridge a chance.

They needed Gerry Blevins and Robert Haire to win to force a tie. They lost their match 3 and 1. Rockmount had won 5-3 overall.
