Delight as Kathryn wins the Challenge Cup

Fifty-five ladies played to win the Challenge Cup on Tuesday June 9, and the prizes were generously sponsored by Active Pest Management and presented by Sherwin Curran.

Section A (0 - 25) was won by Helen Smyth with a nett 71 and Section B (26 - 36) was won by Ada Lavery also with a nett 71. With one shot less the winner of the Challenge Cup was Kathryn Sawyers.

Kathryn’s handicap was reduced by one and she now plays off 26.

The 9 hole competition was won by Margaret Russell and Pat McCartan won the Pink Ladies Competition.

Two Ladies had 2’s Mary Jo Thompson at the 18th and Marie Mills at the 15th.

Gary McCormick wins the PIGS outing to Ardee

The P.I.G.S. golfing fraternity went on an outing last Thursday to the beautiful course at Ardee.

They had a wonderful day by all reports.

Gary McCormick took the top prize.

Kenny Arlow and Joe Glass, the top pairing on the Rossmore Cup team, were joint second at Ardee.

Those PIGS certainly know how to enjoy themselves.
