Connor fires in a brand new course record at Banbridge GC

Connor Doran fired in a course record six under par 63 at Banbridge last Thursday but still came off the course unsatisfied.

It was a sensational round but all Connor could say was “I should have had a 60”.

He birdied the third and the sixth to be out in 34 shots.

He then played the next seven holes in five under par. The highlight was an eagle 3 at the par 5 fourteenth hole.

The pin position at the 17th was diabolical and Connor 3-putted, his only blemish. A par at the last saw him home in 28 shots for the second nine.

Despite that, he didn’t even get the top prize in the Thursday Open as Alan McVey bagged 42 points.
