Bobby wins Bank Holiday medal

THERE was an excellent turnout for the Bank Holiday Medal on Monday June 3.

Bobby Geddis (12) was in tiptop form as he played the 18 holes in only three over par gross 72. This gave him a nett 60, beating the calculated standard scratch by seven shots. Bobby won the Medal by one shot.

Peter Cruikshanks (16) who was runner-up in the T.B. Wallace Cup two days previously, was second again with a nett 61. Peter could so easily have won both competitions but it was not to be.

Damian Weir (5) shot a marvellous gross 68 and he deserved a prize. Damian was third with a nett 63.

The fourth nett prize went to young Joshua Crory (12) with a nett 63. Joshua’s performance over the Bank Holiday weekend was a mirror image of that of Peter Cruikshanks. Joshua was fourth in the T.B. Wallace and fourth again here.

Chris McAvoy (8), Glen Buchanan (26) and Peter Hillen (11) came close with

nett 64’s.

A further seven players finished with nett 65’s and that group included the best gross winner. Irish International, Rory Leonard (+1), shot the best gross score of the season to date, a superb five under par 64.

The others with nett 65 were Terry Malcolmson (12), Paul Wylie (10), Jonathan Brush (12), Robert Barnes (15), Jonathan Ward (3) and Conor Campbell (8).

But the hero of the hour was Bobby Geddis and everyone was delighted for him.
