Galloway stars in U15 win

Moneyslane U15s 2

Tullyvallen 1

SLANE entertained Tullyvallen at home at the weekend.

As the season draws to a close it has become a struggle to get a team out on the pitch with players injured or having other commitments but the young players on the field make their mark and an impression on the manager.

Slane were unlucky not to go in front early on and found the Vallen keeper in fine form, pulling off save after save.

Kinley smashed his effort off the bar and Scott hit hard but the keeper saved. On the quarter hour Slane opened the account when Dickson was slotted in on goal by Scott and he side footed wide of the advancing keeper and into the net.

Again a ball over the top by Boyd threaded Dickson in on goal and he finished with precision to double Slane’s lead.

Slane were cold at the start of the second half and conceded a free on the edge of the box which was converted by the striker, following through after Rodgers saved.

Slane fought hard to get another goal but found the player of the match, Vallen’s goalkeeper, in top form.

Best on the day was Philip Galloway.
