Fourths lose to league leaders

Banbridge Fourths 1

North Down Thirds 3

Banbridge Fourths took on the current Junior 3 League leaders, North Down Thirds, on a floodlit night at Havelock.

Within the first 15 minutes North Down were two-nil up and it looked like they were going to walk the game.

Banbridge quickly tweaked the formation and began to nullify the North Down attack, leaving the opposition exasperated at times.

The Banbridge team came out in the second half and continued where they had left off. The forwards had some very good chances to score.

Alas, it was North Down who scored the next goal through a break away, however Banbridge who otherwise were in complete control of the game scored quickly to show that the team were still going to fight until the end. Niall Burns scored another world class goal after the North Down sweeper failed to take an aerial. Niall pounced and showed great skill to fire pass the opposition keeper.

The next match is on Saturday at 4pm at Ferris Park.
