Winters with the winner as Town U15s edge it

Town’s Under 15s kept up their 100 per cent record in the League Cup group stages with a hard earned 3-2 win over Tandragee at a wet Tech pitch last Saturday morning.

Town were first to get a foothold on the game and started to zip the ball around in the middle of the park.

This pressure paid off when midfielder Keelan Quigley scored his second in as many games when he picked up the ball just inside the Tandragee half and as he slipped past one tackle, he unleashed a left footed pile driver that sailed high into the net for a deserved opener.

The home side looked like the only team that would score next with Jamie Feeney working tirelessly up top. He really had the Tandragee defence in all sorts of bother as he held the ball up superbly and beat his markers regularly.

And it was Feeney who scored Town’s second after great work from Shea Winters and Cameron Sands, who released Feeney just inside the box and he toe poked the ball with power into the net beating the onrushing keeper.

Town saw out the remainder of the half as James Orr, Feargal Vaughan, Tom Mehaffey, Henry Doogan and Charles Cully all put in a great shift to deny the visitors.

Five minutes after the break, Tandragee got one back, and as they piled on more pressure, Town had to dig deep with Cashel Haughey and Eoin Scullion introduced to the action.

Michael Kelly and William Doogan came on and provided pace down the flanks and with 10 minutes left on the clock Banbridge got a third after a decent period of pressure. Shea Winters found himself in the penalty area and skipped round a couple of challenges before slotting the ball low into the far right corner of the net for a goal that would prove to be the winner.

Tandragee did get a deserved second 10 minutes from time and maybe could have got the draw only for some excellent saves from Banbridge keeper Aaron Devlin as Town held out.
