Win for U11s

TOWN Juniors U11s travelled to Bangor on Saturday morning and hit five great goals in a convincing win.

The locals started brightly and created plenty of chances, with David Faulkner, Jake Corbett and Dozie Ajeh all coming close after some great wing play from Ben Johnston and Josh Woods.

Town eventually broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Dozie Ajeh raced through and slotted home with ease.

The Juniors doubled their lead five minutes later, and it was that man again, Dozie Ajeh who found the net when he side footed past the hapless keeper for his second of the day.

Carniny created a few dangerous moments but Town’s defence of David McGill, Cameron Sands, Ross Shields and James Orr all stood firm to deny the home side.

As Town went in search of a third the Bangor outfit broke quickly and grabbed a goal to make it 2-1. This comeback was short lived as the hardworking Max Wilson thumped in a third for Town.

The Juniors were coasting at this stage and were good value for their lead but minutes before the break Castle got another goal back - a rasper from all of 30 yards giving Town keeper Michael McGrath no chance.

Town came out in the second half and looked the more dangerous of the two sides and they went further ahead when Shea Winters finished well when he got on the end of some great approach play from Jack Arlow, Ben Johnston and Lewis McBurney to make it 4-2.

The Juniors controlled the remainder of the game and snuffed out any danger that came their way - with keeper Michael McGrath proving to be a safe pair of hands between the sticks again, and distributing the ball from kickouts that always found a red shirt.

Town sealed their win when they scored a fifth minutes from the end when Jake Corbett danced around the keeper and slotted home.
