U9s see off Loughgall

BANBRIDGE Town U9s played Loughgall Colts at the IFA Development Centre at Brownstown Park, Portadown on Saturday and after a great performance won 5-3.

The Town went a goal behind early on but came straight back into it after a great run and shot by Josh Kerr.

Within minutes Loughgall went 2-1 up with a looping shot bur Banbridge drew level when Harry Annett teed himself up and shot low to make it 2-2.

This ding dong match went to 3-2 to Loughgall before the first break but on the restart Town drew level again when Annett notched his second of the game.

Alex Innocenzi, Finn Martin and Bobby Jones were excellent in their defensive displays and were always there to help out when the midfield needed them.

Innocenzi himself went close while at the other end Toby Jones pulled off two fantastic saves for Banbridge to keep his team in it. In the last third of the game Jack Murray scored a great goal to give Banbridge the lead for the first time in the game with the impressive Josh Kerr again going close. Before the full time whistle Annett grabbed his hat trick with a well placed strike to leave the final score at 5-3 to Banbridge Town.

Overall a great pefroamnce from the boys who are continuing to show great potential and great devlopment at this level of junior football.

The other U9 team won 11-2 with a great performance against Portadown Boys.
